Jacquelynn Golub grew up in Woodbury and has a long history at North Shore Synagogue, culminating with her selection as our Religious School Director starting in the 2016 – 2017 school year. In 2018, Jacquelynn took on the additional role as our Executive Director.

The synagogue has been her second home since Nursery School and continues to be a major facet in her life. Jacquelynn went to Religious School, graduated Hebrew High School, participated in youth group, NFTY and continues to read Torah for Shabbat services and the High Holy Days and even blow the shofar at High Holy Day services. She also tutors B’nai Mitzvah students and lends a hand in any manner around the synagogue. Her involvement in synagogue programs has helped shape her love for Judaism.

Jacquelynn received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s degree in Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities from Adelphi University. Her love for education was fostered while teaching in public school on Long Island and working with special needs children at the Sid Jacobson JCC, Camp Kehila.

Jewish education has always been Jacquelynn’s passion. She has taught Religious School for nine years and acted as the B’nai Mitzvah Program Coordinator. She co-created a 6th Grade Pre-B’nai Mitzvah program in order to better prepare students for their special day. Jacquelynn has written many family education programs and continues to seek ways to engage families in synagogue life.

Educating children has always brought her a sense of fulfillment.  Her tireless energy, ready smile and ability to get things done make her an exceptional Executive Director.  This, matched with her love for Judaism, has brought her to where she is today.
