Sisterhood at North Shore Synagogue is comprised of women who are committed to the highest ideals of Judaism. We are an enthusiastic and friendly group striving to promote meaningful relationships while also aiming for personal and spiritual growth.
Sisterhood provides a collective identity for women. As a group, we plan and develop social events throughout the year. We strive to introduce projects which are interesting and informative to appeal to everyone. Through these activities we benefit the community as well as our synagogue. We encourage everyone to actively participate in something that sparks your interest or ability. Sisterhood gives you the opportunity to put your talents, time, and gifts to work for many causes. You will enrich our congregational family’s life as well as your own. Sisterhood is community action, from collecting school supplies, offering dinners, stuffing Purim bags, or joining us at our monthly meetings.
Sisterhood works closely with all arms of the synagogue. We supply the oneg after High Holiday services, we send holiday gifts to our college students through our Religious School, we offer B’nai mitzvah gifts, and we contribute to the Youth Group scholarship fund.
Working with others, sharing ideas and forming relationships builds strong ties among women. In a world that has become very complex and sometimes uncaring, Sisterhood is a way of belonging, of being part of a group, of involving oneself in our synagogue and community.
