North Shore Synagogue Brotherhood

Members of Brotherhood enjoy fellowship, learning and service to the congregation. Whether ushering during the High Holidays, building our Sukkah, or just enjoying a quiet morning on a fishing boat together, Brotherhood events instill a sense of community and teamwork.

Brotherhood offers many exciting events for its members throughout the year. Breakfasts and dinners with guest speakers have given congregants the opportunity to mingle with and hear the inside story from sports personalities, media stars and dignitaries alike.

Brotherhood sponsors numerous family events, including fishing trips, barbecues and baseball games. At our Annual Brotherhood Family Chanukah Breakfast, with nearly 400 participants each year, our children feast on pancakes and latkes and sing Chanukah songs. Together, we celebrate the lighting of the menorah, and each child receives chocolate Chanukah gelt and a dreidel.

Our service efforts extend beyond the synagogue to the community at large. We are the ushers during the High Holiday services. Along with our Hebrew School students, we erect the synagogue Sukkah for Sukkot.  Membership in Brotherhood also gives you membership in Men of Reform Judaism, the international organization of synagogue men’s clubs.

If you are interested in performing a mitzvah, supporting charitable causes, creating new friendships, being entertained and informed, or merely boosting Brotherhood’s ability to service North Shore Synagogue, Brotherhood awaits you.

We invite you to join us—become a Brotherhood member and get involved.
